Bancroft Betterment Task Force March Minutes

The Bancroft Betterment Task Force met Thursday, March 30 in the lower level of the Community Building. The Parks and Recreation committee reported receiving a grant of $5000 from the Lower Elkhorn NRD for improvements to the Bancroft Village Park. The committee would like to get youth involved in the project by helping to plant new trees and shrubs. The planting will be coordinated with the town clean-up May 6-7.

The Housing committee decided not to submit a grant application until next year.

Corky Wiig reported that the community band has a June concert scheduled in the park.

Jennifer Carlson reported that there was a good turnout for the Red Cross Blood Drive. Several high school students donated this year with the encouragement of Mr. Sjuts.

Kent, Jon Cerny, and Brad Petersen attended the workshops at the Marina Inn in South Sioux City to learn about the program. Workshop fees were paid by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development through the Center For Rural Affairs.

The next meeting will be Thursday, April 27 in the Lower Level of the Community Building. Any interested community members are welcome to attend.
