Fire protection is provided in the community by a 23-member volunteer fire
department. The department also provides protection for areas outside the
village limits by responding to mutual aid calls. The Bancroft Volunteer Fire
Department has 13 certifed Emergency Medical Technicians who operate the
department's two fully-equipped ambulances.
Library
The Bancroft Public Library, 104 E. Popular St., contains
8,170 volumes and has an average circulation of 26,069. Internet access is
available to the public at the computerized library. The library conducts a
pre-school story hour and a summer reading program. Contact Ruthan
